Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Requests
The Jacksonville Police Department is committed to transparency and provides a variety of records in accordance with the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). Below, you’ll find details on the types of records available, how to submit FOIA requests, and contact information for specific request types.
How to Submit and FOIA Request - Online Submission
To streamline our FOIA process, we now have an online submission option for FOIA requests. All of your requested information, updates on the progress of your FOIA request, and other information related to your request can be found in one convenient place when submitting your FOIA request through our online portal.
- Prepare your request: Include specific information to help us locate the records you need, such as names, dates, report number and other identifiers. Be as specific as possible on what you are requesting.
- Submit your request through the online portal: Click here to submit your request to the portal
- Processing Time and Fees: We will respond to requests within three business days, as per Arkansas law. Any applicable fees will be communicated to you before processing your request.
- FOIA requests for Department Policy: All requests for our Department Policy can be found here - JPD Policy Manual. Any Department policies not listed are exempt from the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.
How to Submit an FOIA Request - In Person / Email Request
- Prepare your request: Include specific information to help us locate the records you need, such as names, dates, report number and other identifiers. Be as specific as possible on what you are requesting.
- Contact the Appropriate Division/Office: Use the designated email addresses listed below to route your request to the appropriate division or office.
- Processing Time and Fees: We will respond to requests within three business days, as per Arkansas law. Any applicable fees will be communicated to you before processing your request.
- FOIA requests for Department Policy: All requests for our Department Policy can be found here - JPD Policy Manual. Any Department policies not listed are exempt from the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.
