How to Obtain a Copy of a Police Report
The Jacksonville Police Department provides access to various types of police reports, including incident, accident, and arrest reports, to help keep our community informed and provide essential documentation. Below, you’ll find information on the types of reports available, how to request them, and any associated fees.
Types of Reports Available
- Incident Reports: These reports detail specific incidents reported to the Jacksonville Police Department, such as thefts, property damage, and other non-traffic-related matters.
- Accident Reports: Filed when a motor vehicle accident occurs, these reports contain information on the accident details, involved parties, and any citations issued.
- Arrest Reports: Provides documentation on arrests made by Jacksonville Police Department officers, including relevant incident details and charges.
Please note that some reports are not publicly accessible due to privacy laws, ongoing investigations, or other legal protections.
How to Request a Copy of a Report
- Accident Reports: The Jacksonville Police Department, partnered with Police Reports U.S., will provide traffic accident reports through the Internet. This is now our preferred method of accident report distribution. If you need a copy of an accident report, please go to our online database. From our report search page, you will be able to search for your report, view it and print it in the convenience of your office or home. You can pay for your reports through this secure site with a credit card or you may contact Police Reports U.S. at 800-489-0190 to see if you qualify for a prepaid account.
- Prepare Your Request: Be ready to provide specific details to locate the report, such as the incident date, location, names of involved parties, and report number (if known). This information helps ensure we can quickly and accurately process your request.
- Request Options:
- In Person: Visit the Jacksonville Police Department Records Division at 1400 Marshall Road, Jacksonville, AR during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM).
- Email: Send your request to records@cityofjacksonville.net with all necessary details. Our team will respond with next steps and any applicable fees.
